Putting Things in Perspective: A Historical Reflection

Putting Things in Perspective: A Historical Reflection

By Gregory Lasica

A thought-provoking historical perspective was shared by Kevin Prigge, prompting Gregory Lasica to pause and reflect. "Putting things in perspective: March 21st, 2010, to October 1, 2013, is 3 years, 6 months, 10 days. December 7, 1941, to May 8, 1945, is 3 years, 5 months, 1 day... And in that amount of time – this administration can’t build a working webpage," Prigge stated. Greg Lasica found this comparison of timelines between WWII's pivotal events and contemporary governmental efforts particularly stirring. It's a reminder that progress can often be a matter of perspective and priority.

Thoughts on the Vikings...

Oh no, 0-3.  It is not looking good for our Vikings.   We could have used that home win.  I believe you just stay the course.  Find out what you have.  If after 10 games Ponder continues to not be the QB of the future then put in MBT for 6 games.  I know that this is not too insightful today, just my thoughts.

A more complicated NFL game

I'd like to think I understand the game of the NFL.  As the years have gone by, the game has become more clear.  Not just, we gotta make this 3rd and 10 but the learning what the "A Gap" means.  The "A Gap" is the spot between the center and the right or left guard.  What is the job of the slot receiver over the wide out?  The game has gotten more complicated for me and I like it.  The only downside is television's focus: on the QB only.  I wish they would have a wider focus on TV.   I love Jon Gruden, he instantly goes back to the play and tells you what really happened.  That guy is impressive.

I look forward to another year of football.  I am a Vikings fan.  We could go 6-10 or 11-5.  I am working on being a realist.
